Presentation to Rev. Anita Kerr

On Sunday 27th January, we were pleased to have the Bishop of Clogher The Right Reverend John McDowell for a Service of Holy Communion. The organist was Mrs. Sadie Moore.

At the start of the service, Bishop John dedicated 3 Hymn Books and 3 Prayer Books in memory of Sam and Rebecca McMullan and their daughter Maud from Belleek. These were presented by Hazel and Colin Hatton. Hazel is a granddaughter of Sam and Rebecca and a niece of Maud.

We were also very sad to say goodbye to Rev. Anita Kerr, who had been in charge of Services and Pastoral cover for the past year.

A soup lunch, followed by desserts was served by the ladies of the Group of Parishes. Following lunch Eddie Graham paid tribute to Rev. Anita’s ministry and how we had been so privileged to have her in our Group. We all appreciated her laughter, sense of fun, openness and dedication. She had also been very conscientious in her ministry at Belleek Controlled Primary School. Anita’s family had also supported her in their attendance on many occasions. Whilst we were sad to see her go, we were now at the point of moving on to fill the vacancy and with the help of the Diocesan Nominators, things would happen in the next months. Rev. Anita was wished well in her studies and future ministry, which we hope will be in Clogher Diocese.

Rachel Love presented Rev. Anita with a Belleek Pottery lamp, that she had engraved with the names of the Four Parishes in the Group. On behalf of Garrison Friday Club and Slavin and Belleek Sunday Doreen Earls paid tribute to Rev. Anita’s ministry and her reintroduction of the Family Service which has been very popular. Skye Love and Emma Kettyles presented Rev. Anita with 6 Aynsley Mugs in her favourite colour - red! Bishop John also paid tribute to Rev. Anita’s qualities and dedication. He wished her well in her forthcoming exams.
