Joint Mothers' Union and Choir Christmas Meal, held in The Forge, Belleek

The Choir and Mothers' Union held their Annual Christmas Dinner this year in The Forge, Belleek. Rev. Ngozi opened with Grace. A lovely Christmas meal was served by Valerie, George and their staff. Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship. Dot Barlow, MU Branch Leader thanked all the staff for the good service, food, and everyone who attended.

Mothers' Union Meal

Members of Mothers' Union and friends enjoying a delicious Christmas meal at Melvin Country House, Garrison on Thurs 11th December. Francis and Martin McGorty & Family were excellent hosts. Thanks to the Branch Leader, Dot Barlow for organising the evening.

Mothers' Union 2014


Members of Mothers' Union organised a Coffee Morning and Cake Sale on Sat 18th October. To date £410 has been raised for Funds and for Overseas Projects.

Mothers' Union April Service

The April Service of Mothers' Union was held in Kiltyclogher Parish Church. The organist was Joy Graham and the Service was led by the Branch Leader Elizabeth Ovens. Rev Ngozi thanked Elizabeth for serving six years as Branch Leader and welcomed Dot Barlow as the new Leader.

The ladies enjoyed a meal in Garrison Church Hall after the Service.


Mothers' Union

Mothers' Union members who attended a Diocesan Breakfast in Killyhevlin Hotel Enniskillen on Saturday 15th February. The speaker was Rev. Canon Kathy Trimby, All Ireland Faith and Policy Coordinator.


Mothers' Union Christmas Cookery

The December meeting of Mothers' Union was a Cookery Demonstration by Joy Graham.

Afterwards, supper was served with samples, which were enjoyed by everyone.

The Smiles Foundation

Myrtle Irvine was the speaker at the October Branch meeting of Mothers' Union. Using a slide show Myrtle told us about various trips she and members of her family had made to Romania. Myrtle is involved as Development Associate for The Smiles Foundation.

The Smiles Foundation is a Christian Charity which was set up in Romania 15 years ago. The Charity has a Mission Centre, close to the city of Oradea and Myrtle tries to go out once a year. They support over 200 poor families by providing them with monthly food parcels, used clothing, medication when needed and social and spiritual counselling.

Annual Mothers' Union / Parish Outing

On Saturday 4th May 13 we had our Annual Mothers’ Union / Parish Outing. It was to Letterkenny and Ballybofey. In the morning we went to Tropical World, Letterkenny where we first of all viewed the vast range of plants in the Garden Centre. We then had our morning tea which was followed by a very informative video on the life cycle of the butterfly. . .

Garrison, Slavin, Belleek and Kiltyclogher Mothers' Union

Garrison, Slavin, Belleek and Kiltyclogher Mothers Union held their Closing Service and celebration of 50 years of the formation of the branch, on Wednesday 17th April in Kiltyclogher Parish Church.

Mrs Elizabeth Ovens (Branch Leader) welcomed founder, past and present members to the service and extended a very warm welcome to the Diocesan President, Dr Margaret Knox.
